Wild Swims and Dips

Swimming in rivers. Dipping in waterfalls. Walking in the stunning surroundings of the Peak District National Park. My adventure swims and dips take on the wilder side of wild swimming. Travelling to a swim spot on foot, carrying all your equipment and immersing in something cold. Channel your inner child and do something seriously fun and invigorating.

Waterfall dipping sessions are suitable for anyone able to undertake a gentle moorland walk and be brave enough to immerse in some seriously bracing waters. There is no need to be super fit, we always go at the pace of the slowest person. No racing or route marching here!

My river swims are suitable for those who have already started outdoor swimming but would like to broaden their horizons with the opportunity to undertake a point to point river swim.

Sessions are suitable for 1-6 people depending on the activity and location. It’s a great way to get the whole family involved or bond with a group of friends.

Waterfall Walks

In these sessions we’ll walk to a beautiful waterfall pool and immerse in nature. You’ll learn how to read moving water, what to think about when choosing a swim spot in the wilds, how to immerse in cold waters and what you need to consider when you’re an hour or so from civilisation and taking a dip. We always walk at a pace that’s suitable for the whole group so please don’t worry about being left behind. There’s plenty of opportunity to stop and enjoy the view and chat along the way.

Sessions available at Three Shires Head near Buxton and in Edale. The Edale location is easily accessible by public transport from Manchester and Sheffield.

Costs from £120-210 depending on location and numbers (max 6 people) with availability weekdays, weekends and some evenings (May-July only). Water shoes, gloves, changing towels and sweet treats included and a packing list and directions will be provided a few days before the session.

Standard sessions last around 4 hours however if you’d like to explore further and squeeze in multiple dips please ask for more information and potential options. Family sessions for those with children aged 10+ available, just drop me a message to arrange.

If you’d like to book onto these sessions please click on “book” below and follow the links for the location. If you’d like to arrange a session for you or a group of friends for another day just click “enquire” and drop me a message with times and dates that suit and we can go from there.

Public group sessions run April - September only. If you’re experienced dippers and would like guiding outside of these months please drop me a message and we can arrange something.

River Swimming

Come and float down a river. The rivers of the Peak District tend to be cooler than other local still waters, some peaty others clear and crisp, all are full of wildlife. If you’re lucky we might even see a kingfisher. Single location and point to point river swims available.

Point to point swims require prior outdoor swimming experience. Whilst we go at whatever pace you’re comfortable with you will need experience of swimming up to 600m outdoors.

Prices from £120 depending on location and numbers. Shoes, gloves and storage tow floats can be provided on request.

Public group river swims available April - September. If you’re experienced year round swimmers and would like guiding outside of these months please drop me a message and we can arrange something.
