Introduction to Wild Swimming - Calver

Designed for new wild swimmers as well as those who’ve already started but would like more knowledge to extend their wild swimming journey safely.

In this 7 hour workshop we will cover:

• The benefits of wild swimming;
• Where to swim and the different types of swim locations and experiences;
• Common myths and misconceptions about wild swimming;
• How to swim safely including how to identify and assess risks;
• Environmental considerations of outdoor swimming;
• Equipment. What are you likely to need (or not) to enjoy your dip.

This session isn’t about how to swim fast or far, it’s about how to enjoy the water in the way that’s right for you. Whilst there is a structure to the session there will be lots of opportunity to discuss and ask questions within the group.

We’ll be based at Calver village hall in the morning before we head out for a swim to put everything into practice in the afternoon.

£85pp. Water shoes, neoprene gloves, full write up of the session and refreshments included. Please bring a packed lunch. Wetsuits available to hire.
